Vintage clothing has been a passion of mine for years. With so many wonderful eras and styles to choose from you can create any look you want with original clothing. The 60’s and 70’s are a particular favourite but I also love the long flowing skirts and dresses of the late 1800’s.
Vintage can be bought in so many places and is exciting to hunt for. Often found in thrift shops and little hideaway secondhand stores. You can get quite addicted to rummaging for pieces you like. Whether you like wearing true vintage all over or mixing it up with other items in your wardrobe, its a great way to look individual. Shopping for vintage can suit a variety of pockets as a lot can be found at flea markets, car boots etc etc. When something is quite rare and in amazing condition it is no different to antiques and can command high prices.
Vintage can be found in excellent condition usually just needing a good clean. Repairing damaged items can be something easy to fix or may need expert care. I love finding vintage that needs this TLC so I can either restore it back to its former glory or re-work it into something even more unique. Most vintage is usually really well made and good quality fabrics. Life wasn’t so disposable years ago and things were made to last and thats why we have such a lot of good condition vintage around now.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
All EL HOBO clothes are better if hand washed in cool/warm water with care and a soft detergent like woolite. Spot clean where necessary and hang up to air. Never put in with heavily coloured items and always wash separately. Vintage items can be machine washed depending on washing instructions if their are any. If in doubt hand wash. Jackets and coats can be spot cleaned, suede or leather usually needs dry cleaning.
