Hand selected vintage

A small curated amount of hand selected vintage clothes is picked to compliment my handmade.
I like to hand source the vintage clothes myself not from bulk outlets. I try to select pieces that will go with and compliment my handmade. Sometimes finding one piece will give me inspiration to make a collective around it. You never know what you are going to find therefore it feels like a treasure hunt. Vintage has a story and looks so much better than new. Usually well made from quality fabric that lasts. When an item is in need of repair I will remake it. Turn it into something else keeping its best qualities and add to it.
VINTAGE STYLE
My handmade bags look lovely with the hand selected vintage clothes. It is all curated to go together to form a collective. The style of vintage I choose needs to work well with the handmade. I choose items that are wearable for everyday therefore easy to wear. Choosing fabrics that are above all durable and comfortable.
I have a passion for clothing and style from the late sixties to seventies. The shape and form is adventurous and flattering. The textiles range so much from natural to wildly extravagant. Among my favourites are BIBA, LAURA ASHLEY and GUNNE SAX. Another favourite is KAFFE FASSETT. I love his use of colour and textures in his knitwear designs.
Their are so many reasons to love vintage. Buying vintage clothes above all helps the environment and creates unique style. You can develop and create a personal style through vintage with a lot of unique pieces. Mixing vintage with some new pieces helps you choose quality sustainable clothing. Its not very often you will come across the same item with someone else wearing it therefore individual. The history of some pieces make them a joy to own and wear.
