Handmade hobo collar from salvaged sheepskins.
I select each sheepskin for its quality, individual look and feel. I then wash them without use of chemicals and use natural dyes to obtain a unique colour for the ones I wish to dye.
This process is quite time consuming to revive and bring the quality of the wool back to life, but necessary and very much worth it to reuse such a beautiful textile.
These collars are great for all year round wear as they can offer an inviting warmth to a summer outfit of an evening, it’s surprising just how warm they are.
This one is made with an array of smaller pieces of hand dyed and natural sheepskin, patchworked together to create an hombre effect. This process has created a multifaceted surface, beautifully faded and extremely unique. Finished off around the neckline with vintage Indian block print cotton and another different piece for the tie up.
